Derubelle is a very kind person and I enjoyed interviewing her. She might not think this, but she is very interesting. I enjoy listening to people’s insights and their opinions on things. I hope that you guys get to know Derubelle a little bit more than before. She is on WordPress and The Sims Forums. She has a very popular story called Life is For The Living . It’s an very exciting story about a wealthy family, The Thompsons, that relocate due to the nature of the father’s, Mr. Thomas’, line of business. The only son makes sure that their house searching will fail, but for some strange reason he changes his mind.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being a simmer?
A: My favourite thing about being a simmer must be the feeling that I’m in on this big secret that no one else around me is in on, haha. I feel like the game is so good and so plentiful that everyone around me, friends and what not that don’t even think about giving it a shot are missing out on a really great thing! And my second favorite thing would be the forums, specifically the Writers’ Lounge: such a great bunch of people!
Q: Do you think TS4 could be better?
A: It definitely could be better but then again with a life simulating game that will always be the case. No matter how advanced a game is it’s still AI and so it’s got its limitations. However, I think the game is getting better and better with each new content release and the only thing that I admit to missing dearly is seasons but apart from that I’m quite happy with the game.
Q: What are your favorite social media outlets to showcase your game?
A: I must admit I don’t showcase my love of the Sims on a lot of media outlets as such, but I suppose WordPress is my only real outlet. And I’d say it’s my favorite one because of the amazing simmers that make it my favorite place to showcase my creativity and love for the game all bundled up in my story!
Q: What are some interesting facts about you?
A: Hmm let me think.. When I get really mad and scream my voice gets so high-pitched the dog starts barking at me, I almost lost my shoes in a muddy volcano once, on a school trip, my skin is allergic to nickel (no pretty, cheap earrings for me *sob*), I’ve never broken a bone in my body. I’m not that interesting of a person haha.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I am from Romania originally but living in UK atm (at the moment).
Q: What are your hobbies outside playing TS4?
A: My hobbies outside of playing TS4 are swimming (so relaxing), playing volleyball semi-professionally( 8 years of experience and counting), reading fantasy and fiction literature (and crying when the book ends), playing all sorts of games (to name a few: Assassin’s Creed, GTA franchise, Witcher, Portal etc..) and more recently learning how to use a controller (All my life have been a PC player and the switch is hard haha).
Q: What is something you want people to know about you?
A: That I speak first and think second sometimes which has landed me in a lot of trouble over the years haha! I’d like for people to know that although I’ve had problems all my life with confidence and people’s opinions of me I have finally started to truly come out of my shell and do what I want to do! And although it’s scary, it’s also so liberating to be the person I always knew I was or the person I’ve always wanted to be!
Q: What is your favorite genre of music?
A: Unfortunately that is one question I wouldn’t be able to answer. And that is simply because in terms of music I’ve never had a favorite genre but rather I just listen to songs that I’m introduced to or discover on my own that I love. So because of this my playlists that I most often listen to is a compilation of obscure songs that no one has hard of and really popular ones, sad, upbeat, romantic songs, old, new etc..
Q: What are your favorite stories on the sims forums, tumblr, or wordpress?
A: Well obviously we have CitizenErased14’s Dust to Dust story, Para(Normal) Neighborhood and more recently Ashes to Ashes legacy (I have a secret theory that she’s actually a Dust bunny in disguise..I mean the names of her stories give her out). I also love Munterbacon’s Ironbound, Meggles’ Suzu Clan, Mighty Dan’s Frenemies, JoieWilder’s Thoreau Legacy, The Fey of Life (https://simsfeyoflife.wordpress.com/), Rorygilmore’s Legacies of the Sims and I bet there’s a considerable amount of other stories that I love and have forgotten to mention or that I haven’t had the chance to read yet. Our simming writing community is quite a wonder, isn’t it?
